Alvand Website Toolkit Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Thank you for installing our browser extension (“Extension”). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under applicable laws such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Google’s Chrome Web Store Developer Policies.

1. Overview

This Extension is designed to enhance your browsing experience by providing information about websites you visit, including server location, IP address, AI-based trust analysis, and real-time security checks via Google Safe Browsing. We are committed to ensuring that any data collected is handled responsibly, transparently, and lawfully.

2. What Data We Collect

We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII). Our Extension may process the following types of data:

  • Visited website URLs – used locally and transiently to analyze the website and check it against Google Safe Browsing.
  • Server IP address & location – determined on-device to display geographical and technical server data.
  • AI-generated insights – performed on the fly based on website content, not stored or shared.
  • Security status – retrieved via Google Safe Browsing API, without logging user history.

We do not store, track, or transmit your browsing history or personal data to our servers or third parties.

3. Use of Data

The data processed is used solely for the following purposes:

  • Displaying the country flag and server location via IP lookup.
  • Generating AI-based insights about website credibility.
  • Checking the domain’s security status using Google Safe Browsing.

All processing is real-time, local, and ephemeral — we do not maintain any logs or databases of user activity.

4. Third-Party Services

  • Google Safe Browsing API
Used to verify the safety of websites. Google may receive the domain name of the site being checked, in accordance with their Privacy Policy.

We do not share any data with advertising services, analytics providers, or external databases.

5. Your Rights under GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights:

  • Right to Access – You can request what data we hold about you (we do not hold any PII).
  • Right to Rectification & Erasure – You may request corrections or deletion (not applicable as we do not store user data).
  • Right to Object – You may object to data processing (extension functionality will cease if permission is revoked).
